How To Port MIUI 8 Custom Rom Mediatek MT6582 Kitkat with Linux 3.4.67 Kernel. This tutorial is working and tested on Mediatek MT6582 KK Devices.

Requirements For PC :
1. 7-Zip/Winrar
2. Android Image Kitchen
3. Notepad++
4. Stock Rom
5. Custom Rom

4. Stock Rom
5. Custom Rom
Lets Start Porting MIUI 8 For MT6582 KK
Step 01 : At first create two folder ‘Stock’ and ‘Port’
Step 02 : Extract stock rom to ‘Stock’ folder and MIUI 8 custom Rom ‘Port’ Folder
Step 03 : In this step , you need change the mount point in update-script. Go To META-INF/com/google/android/

Now open update-script using Notepad++ or Droid Edit Pro. Look for the mount point and changed it. If you don’t know your mount point you can use Storage Info app to know the mount point of your device.

Step 04 : Replace Stock Rom To Port (MIUI 8) Folder
From “system/bin” Folder
– bin/ipod
– bin/old (If this file is not available then you may skip this)
– bin/sdcard

From “system/etc” Folder
– etc/firmware (delete from port rom and then copy from stock)
– etc/mddb (delete from port rom and then copy from stock)

From “system/lib” Folder
– lib/libcameracustom.so
– lib/libcameraservice.so
– lib/libipod.so
– lib/libvcodecdrv.so
– lib/libMali.so
– lib/libshowlogo.so

From “system/xbin” Folder
– xbin/libmnlp_mt6582

Step 05 : Unpack both (Stock,MIUI) boot.img Using Android Image Kitchen
– replace spiltimg folder stock to miui boot
– replace ramdisk/ueventd.rc Stock to miui

MIUI Bugs Fixing :

Camera Bug Fixing : Camera Error or Green Camera
– Unpack boot.img using Android Image Kitchen
– Open init.rc using any text editor & replace or compae Camera Line Stock To MIUI boot
SD Card Not Mount
– Unpack MIUI boot.img & Delete init.no_ssd.rc
– Copy init.ssd.rc from Stock To MIUI boot.img
